Sad find

There was an auto company named Maxwell during the 1920’s that was losing it’s footing amongst the industry and a banker that had invested cash to keep it going, the very same banker that helped Oldsmobile out for GM with the assistance of an ex railroad worker by the name Walter.
The banker saw the persistence in Walter in his efforts to make Oldsmobile a profitable company and asked him to step in to save Maxwell in the same way, Walter wasn’t sure he wanted to help as Maxwell was in bad shape.
The banker persisted that it was ready to be improved on and made better and convinced Walter to “save” it.
Walter stepped in to help sometime around 1924 and realized what the banker was getting to…..1924 was the last year for a Maxwell automobile
In 1925 Walter P Chrysler started the legend of Chrysler Corporation.
I found this badly burned 1926 Chrysler Rumble seat Roadster ( second model year for Chrysler ) 86027BF1-0B25-44CB-9CAE-A9AA46BAE65D.jpeg 9F08DFD5-AA07-43F7-AD03-BE2DC1BFD2C8.jpeg 9DFACF01-B854-468D-9B38-FB582CAACA81.jpeg FC2833DB-7B29-4BAC-A38D-7DEF48411C2F.jpeg 0981E06A-F1BC-44C6-A1AC-0A68E2A7EB9E.jpeg CF096B25-3AB1-4073-BD85-FC7450DDD10B.jpeg 1B7C3439-F53B-4E73-8D60-59095A397218.jpeg at a local pick-n-pull and saw that it had been an insurance claim car and been disposed of. It looks like at one time it was restored only to be a loss to a fire …….Sad.
