If you have two motors, you will have a left and right rotation on the motors to keep the boat in a straight line or you will have to fight the steering. Yes, some internals are set up for reverse rotation. I believe the distributor is one as well as the starter or bell housing for the reverse rotation. Be careful, if it was a salt water boat you may have some internal rust issues.
