1972 Dodge Dart Swinger - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...

Can anyone tell me what the three year rule is? See the ad text.

I took mine completely apart, and I wouldn't do it that way again. But, at least I'm bearing the burden of reassembling it

I agree - it's the road that leads to hell.

My Duster isn't nice, in fact it's ugly, but the parts I've worked on are all good to go and that's good enough for me. My road runner on the other hand - disassembled for years.

I bought my '68 Dart in about 1997. I actually drove it a few times up and down the street, although it was not in the best of shape mechanically. 2 years later, I moved it into my newly completed shop and started tearing it down. The goal: LIKE A SHOWROOM NEW CAR!!!! Yeah, right!
Here I am 23 years later (having completed a professional career, put 3 kids through college, and retired) and I'm finally putting it back together. With my knee aching, my back pinching, my shoulder needing surgery, I'm making slow but sure progress.
My advice: Find a deal on one of these CL finds, bring it home, make it run, make it safe, and go have yourself a blast driving the darn thing. Leave the showroom restorations to Jay Lenno.

Where did those color breakdowns come from?

...and those total production numbers seem awfully low, don't they?

I remember those being pretty popular.

I guess I missed the 5 speed part.

Yeah, I can see that.

Before the "why would anyone ever want a manual transmission" era ended.
