No controversy. It never had max heads on it, so it's not a max block. Period. (Without the valve notches, the exhaust valves crash into the block, and it will NOT run with eight bent exhaust valves).
The 1.88 exhausts clear on a 4.320 block, NOT on a 4.187 bore 413 block.
