X-heads / 6 Barrel combo porting

also with a .64 fifth gear, i would choose gear ratio based on what i wanted the rpm to be in 5th at cruise. atleast a 3.91 gear, maybe even a 4.30...depends on tire diameter...
The TK-500 has a .68 5th. My belief is that the 1st gear ratio of 3.27 and a 3.55 rear gear is great for taking off without having to touch the gas. I drove the trans and rear gear for a couple of years and it was very driver friendly. Dad's rear gear is 3.55 as well and he is getting my trans.
The differences will be that my engine is a 408 with Hughes ported Edelbrock's, 9:1 cr with a D1-SC Procharger. Dad's engine will be a 3.31 stroke, similar cam, similar compression. The Procharger shouldn't affect the take off as it isn't making boost at the rpm's that you would normally engage the clutch under normal operation.

Tremec's calculator says the 1:1 cruise speed will be 50 mph on a 27" tire. With the .68 OD he will be at 73 mph.
Forgot to mention that the RPM put in the calculator was 2200 rpm.
