I was at Famoso Raceway, yes Bakersfield is in SoCal :lol: for the Budweiser Warm Up long ago. My work partner ran an injected BBC digger and we took it over to play. I was walking through the staging lanes to get back to the race car from our pit and come across this '68 Camaro, nothing real special at first glance until I get closer. Underneath was 14" cheater slicks, 4 bar, dana, and tubs. I get to the driver side window, it's all caged out and it has hand controls :eek:. Little later I go back to our pit for something else for the race car and find a young man in a wheel chair next to the Camaro. "This yours? Nice hot rod." "Runs 10.50s. It's how I make my living on Van Nuys Blvd." We talked for a while. I got to see him make a pass, he wasn't foolin' 10.48 and straight as a string. :thumbsup:
