I don't understand why people want to retire in Florida. Even before this last hurricane Florida had the highest insurance rates in the country not to mention the outrageous deductibles.
Missouri has tornados and if you are anywhere near a creek or river, significant flood possibilities every year. Every place has benefits and potential risks. You make your choice and take your chances.
