Thermoquad primary well casting in rough shape - is it okay?

Might seal. If it doesn't, it will be rich & smelly at idle.
If it was my carb: I would emery the casting & remove 0.005". Then with the black centre section, remove the same amount from the top using emery paper, rubbing on a flat surface.
