My machine shop buddy would just sleeve it... my 225 in the Dart is sleeved because there was this weird casing void that was exposed when we bored it out 0.040".
Yeah, I’d consider that if it was the 225 it was born with but it’s not the original engine. This 225 is a 1967 vintage.
Plus, I don’t want to sleeve 3 cylinders on a block that is so plentiful—remember, 4 & 3 are starting to do the same thing. I’ve done a couple sleeves (personally) on a previous project and it’s a lot of work. And, like I said, this block has got some terrible erosion inside the water jacket—it’s a boat anchor.
