1971 Duster, Granny Special

Got some more work on the floor done while once again waiting for backordered parts...

Finished welding everything in, Then Primed/Painted the new pans before adding some Knockoff Dynamat.

I Originally Purchased 120 X 40" Roll of the material, It managed to cover everything shown in the pics below, as well as the Lower half of the firewall.

It did Not have enough for the back seat floors or the rear inner wheel wells so I had to order more. I went ahead and ordered another 120 X 40 roll so I'd have extra rather than be

short. Maybe that will give some other folks an idea of how much of this stuff to order, its frustrating having to guess, especially when Dynamat expensive as Hell.

Once I get the rest done im going to mat off the back seat area as well as the rear inner wheel wells, and the Trunk/back seat divider panel. Ill probably go a little ways into the back

part of the trunk area right behind the rear seat too since I'll have extra. Once that's done im going to run the wiring for the speakers before laying the carpet.

While I wait for the additional Sound deadening to arrive I'll be starting on redoing the door panels tomorrow. I went to the fabric store today and purchased some black vinyl, and

some 3M spray contact cement. I cant do fancy sewwing stuff, so it will just be covered in plain black vinyl until I can afford new fancy ones from Legendary.

ALSO: For anyone wanting to install this sound deadening stuff, after having done it myself I would highly recommend that you cut it up into smaller squares or rectangles,

maybe 12" X 12" ext. In long sheets it is hard to form to contours and such because it wants to stick everywhere your not ready for it yet and if you try to peel it up it likes to just rip.

Just take your time and have fun with it, I think I had about an hour into it actually laying the mat itself post prep/paint.
