470 build - Need some insight - 68 Dart

Honestly that cam is too small for the heads capabilities but might help the bottom end torque numbers. Your peak torque with a max wedge port is about 5700 rpm. (But I would just run it and see how you like it).
Your 470 will move that car with that gear, tire and will not even try lol.
I'll give you an example of my 470 and trickflow 240 heads (standard port) with a 1.6 rocker. 260-264 @ .050 duration and .656-.660 lift my engine made peak torque around 4k rpm over and peak power at 5700 and my cams rpm range is up to 4000-7300 rpm.
By the way it looks like that's going to be a beautiful dart.
Thanks......this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I know the cam might be a little small to fully utilize the head potential, but it leave me room to make upgrades in the future. (I was in the process of building a 512 before this motor became available and I would have went with Trickflow heads in that case. Either the 240s or 270s)

I appreciate the comment on the Dart build. Thanks for the response!
