A couple of comments about THAT

As you install the rewire harness and get things "done," test things as you go along. You can PROTECT against damage to the system, that is, a short / fault that will cause damage, by doing one of two things

Either use one or two sizes of lamps in series with the battery ground lead as a current limit, or fuse the ground for testing. You can use a tail/ stop lamp for example, or fuse it buy using a common inline fuse holder. About 20A will protect against most shorts, without risking damage to the harness. Of course most of the new harness is already fused

Also, I would draw out your own notes/ diagram concerning the wire/ fuse box interface. Many of the aftermarket diagrams do not actually have a diagram per se. The wires are usually numbered/ labeled, but no line wire drawing usually exists.
