They are usually cheap when needing work. Gut it and have a small sleeping area in the nose still. Not sure the chassis is heavy enough or the axles, but worth keeping eyes open for a deal.
The one we had axles rated for 4500 pounds each. Dual axles. The camper weighed 6,800 loaded. So I think if you gut it, you should be fine on the axles.
