Did they put that AR stamp and note on the box because they knew the part might not look quite the same as their own?
Seems very forthcoming they would mark the box like that. Kindof the opposite of what we too often see now.
Some manufacturers were more diligent than others. Most of the time when I see that something has been reboxed it's usually been sourced from an OEM supplier because nobody aftermarket was making them at the time. Wasn't uncommon to find a new Mopar part or Ford part or GM part in an aftermarket manufacturer box
