How Do You Like Your Hot Dog?

Our local A&W is one of the last old-school franchises left in the country. It's been in the same family for over half a century. They still brew their root beer (no instant fountain crap) and hand-make their coney sauce, both from decades-old recipes. Between friends and myself, dozens of A&Ws have been tried all around the country. None of us have found anything close. The local coney dogs are always on a steamed bun, and second to none... and if you've never had freshly-brewed root beer, well, you've never really had root beer.
We used to also have a small hot dog stand called "Dawg Hawg" that made stellar Chicago-style dogs, among others. It was only open in the summer since the owner was a retired snowbird. It was only open for 6-7 years and was for sale the last two. No one bought it, so he stayed in Florida the last time he went. The building's a couple of blocks from my house and hasn't had a successful business in it since the Hawg closed.
Can't kill a guy for a decent dog in this town other than A&W's seasonal coney.
