Have the doors been acid dipped? What side glass is on the car?
Good question. The doors have not been acid dipped. I did not want to do it on a street car. All the glass on that car is new aftermarket glass. The aftermarket glass is around .028 thinner than factory glass. Originally the thin glass that went into these cars were really problematic, it broke ALL the time. Once again I was not going to put a problematic part on a street car.
There are many things I took the liberty in doing for the sake of reliability. One is the ignition system. The original ignition system was the Prestolite system that is very unique. I have many of those parts for a complete set but I found the coil is very different ( the negative side of the coil truly goes to ground) and is the hardest part to find out of that kit. I hid a MSD Digital 6 in the glove box and put electric guts inside a real Prestolite distributor. I was not going to run a four speed car without a rev limiter.….I’m good but not stupid!!LOL!!
