Sorry, can’t help with the car’s history, but the first thing I would do is get that fuel line routed away from the headers. Or the car might BE history!
Your concern is noted and it is on the to do list. However, the photo is a bit deceiving; since it seems the line is closer to the pipes than it actually is.
