Plymouth Valiant 61 Manual upgrade query

I struggled with the top-loader A-903 in my 64/225 for a few years. Column shift, non-synchro first gear and the pin-type synchro was not pleasant.

I recently swapped in the correct early 4 speed. Really nice but for the mostly cruising I do, the extra gear isn't needed. The A-903 is about 75% of the A833 in weight and size though. A floor shift cinversion would gave

If I was in your situation, I'd get the car first and evaluate it after driving awhile. Some kind of overdrive would be nice unless you think the price if petrol will be coming down. Then if you want to upgrade, go with the Aussie bits for sure. Most likely far cheater and easier to get parts down the road. (Nice pun there)
