Ballast resistor question

The ballast resister gets hot!

The ceramic is getting hot and making the mount metal band hot.

Ceramics might not feel as hot to the touch as metal.


Basically the ballast is burning off a bunch of power so the coil does not get cooked.


I goofed and mis read the origional post.

You have a single resister ballast resister.

The resistance should be in the 0.5 to 0.6 ohm
