Valve Spring “compressor”

Make that seven then.
That dumbell I had in highschool came in use again…you know the one with the knurled handle and the crappy red plastic locks around the weights that always came loose?

Line up a rocker where you want it to be welded and mark. I used a paint marker. Angle grind a slot for the rocker arm to sit in off to the right or left if preferred.

Grind a v notch outta the end of the arm after a mock up on the head with a valve in for alignment ish.DC265EAC-6C0B-4236-99BB-F603FF730408.jpeg

Weld the piss out of them but do a better job than me with flux core, renamed “splattercore” when I weld.
Whats the old joke? “I’m a welder from way back…when I weld you gotta stand way back”.

Slide it on a rocker shaft and install the shaft with two factory bolts minus one “washer” for clearance on the end/right. I put a rag in the combustion chamber to keep the valve in its place.
Do your thing.

Slide it over and on to the next spring.

The only problem I ran into (other than the shooty fluxcore, the other F word) was that I did’nt make this when I was a teenager.
Cant believe how well it works and how easy it was to make in about an hour all in.
Just have to be careful because of the leverage not to bind the spring. So strong.
Thanks FABO again for the ideas and inspiration.
Never again ever will I use the donkey tool!
