Odd thing I just realized about modern fuel...

After RustyRatRod's recent post about his zero turn, I just realized something about modern ethanol blend gasoline...

If you have ethanol fuel and want to remove the ethanol, add water in a relatively large quantity (experiment with glass jar to witness this).
The water will absorb the ethanol out of the fuel. Siphon out the water or siphon off the fuel and use accordingly.

If you have water in your non-ethanol fuel and want to remove the water, add ethanol.
Obviously, large water requires large ethanol, but a small amount of water (a few drops per gallon of fuel) will be absorbed by the ethanol. "Heet" and its' ilk are nothing more than ethanol.

The yin and yang of ethanol fuels, I guess
Carry on.
