I don't like the auto shut off. My work car does it. What affect does all the start ups have on wear and tear of the starter?

What I've read on the subject is they are build stronger to take into account the extra duty cycle but I've never had to replace one so I can't substantiate that claim. If so it probably translates to them being more costly when needing replaced.
