Both were externally balanced so if you use that older 904 you will need a converter that is weighted.
Post 1970 transmissions are much better.

When I got it it already had the LA 360, think it was a 46RE but it was a 4x4 transmission (tail housing for transfer case). My thought process is, I want a fun truck, 4x4 not needed, I want something that'll run about a mid-low 13's in the quarter (even high 13's would be fine with me), and I want to take it to events like PowerTour or MoParty. I kinda just wanted the simplicity of the older transmission, plus it's 2WD which is a big goal of the project. Thinking maybe I can get a Torque converter for a Dart, or Charger or something? I feel like there has to be some option out there for a 360 LA, A904 combo...
