For 273 rockers the concern is rocker to valve spring/retainer. Nothing like taking a die grinder to something hoping you don't grind too deep but having no way to be sure until it's too late.
Technically, I probably need shims in my rocker setup too. Practically, I think they'll be fine. I'm not building race engines here.
