What brand of gears are you installing?
This is convenient since I'm doing mine as soon as I get my mock up bearings honed.
I have Richmond pro gears and Richmond's instructions give backlash settings for street cars...lol, who wants to run a pro gear in a street car.
I'm probably going to have to call Richmond tomorrow
