Dash ashtray refinishing
My ashtray was rusty so I dunked it in acid for a bit so the rust has been eliminate (except for the flash rust). Unfortunately the retaining clip didn’t survive. Should I drill out the two bottom rivets to separate it into two pieces before I paint it? The face will be black and the tray will be silver.
