Edelbrock AirGap question

It seems the Chevy versions of this manifold have a notch cut in the L/R divider wall...the Mopar versions do not.

Is there a reason for that? Seems hard to believe that gap does something in the GM applications that is not desirable in the LA applications.

Just curious.
