I would get a pop for 5 cents, and then I would put a penny in a machine that gave me a handful of peanuts. I'd take a drink of my pop and then put the peanuts in the bottle. It was such fun to drink the pop and get a few peanuts with each gulp.

I still do it, except now you have to get the drink out of a cooler in the store. I'll pay for the drink and big pack of peanuts, go outside and take a swig of the Coke and pour the peanuts in before I get back in the car. A while back, I stopped in upstate SC for gas and bought a Coke & peanuts. I had the drink sitting on top of a newspaper rack, pouring the peanuts in and a young black lady walked by, turned around and watched for a second and then said "Man...you crazy!"
