The crank has nothing to do with cam breaking or oiling for that matter, oil drains down, besides the windage tray just helps keeping the oil away from the crank throws. I broke in my engine with mine on no issues, billet cam too and aftermarket block. This theory was discussed years ago on here and most to all agreed that thinking was wrong.
