Short story from long ago

The 375 horsepower 396 was a strong runner. I've seen the lesser rated 396's out run many a big block Mopar. It's all in how you have your car tuned, geared, etc. The OP said that the Camaro had a 327 with a 3 speed, I'm assuming it was a automatic. The Camaro probably had either 2.76 or 2.96 gears as that was the standard ratio in the non ss or rs Camaro's. Sometimes guys take on bragging rights when the playing field wasn't even. The mopars that beat him were they all big blocks? Point is that ford, gm have good running cars too. I've seen 5.0 mustang's blow the doors off of 340 car's. I like the mopars the best but at the same time I never under estimate the other person's car.
