A230 3-speed
I'm sure this must be somewhere in the forum already but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. As far as the A230 3-speed transmission goes, what if any differences are there between the A230, PP230 and NP230. The one that came in my 1971 Demon is a PP230 with a manufacture date of August 19, 1969.
Second, where can I get internal parts for the A230? The guy I bought the Demon from had 3 new synchros in a bag to put into the transmission because it shifted kind of hard into 2nd gear. I took the tranny apart to replace the synchros and to check everything else and found that the two thrust washers on the countershaft really need to be replaced. I've done multiple internet searches for A230 parts and I can't even find gaskets for the tail or shift fork cover. I'm not afraid to use the Ultra Gray Permatex on those surfaces so not having gaskets isn't a show stopper. Thanks
