1972 Dodge Colt

Cleaning parts and getting parts together.
Crank shop called on the junk crank, won't clean at 30, but I guarantee that engine was running.
He says it can be welded, I will get with him Thursday and see "How Much$".

I took the rings off the pistons.
The second rings have a weird carbon smiley face at 180 degrees from each other.
The rest of the ring is shiny and clean.
Not sure what would have caused that.
But I have never disassembled an engine with these few miles.
Top rings are shiny all the way around.
Maybe it's normal?
