Here is probably the lowest hp 9 second car on here lol.
1969 Plymouth Barracuda tube chassis. 2600 pounds with my fat *** in it.
32x16 slicks. 4.88 gears. Ford 9 inch. Ladder Bar. Steel roof and quarters. 8.50 cage.
Stock block 440
Stock 452 heads with ductile adjustable rockers
Solid roller cam of unknown specs
Eagle H beam rods
Stock forged crank
Turbo Action Pro II powerglide with Trans brake and custom TCI 8 inch convertor rebuilt by Fort Dodge Transmission this fall. Unknown stall speed at this point until I get it on the track in the spring. Should be in the 4800-5000 range.
Has C02 shifter, Delay Box, Nitrous (150 shot)(not used when bracket racing).
This last year my best time was a 9.98 @ 128. Kept hitting the rev limiter (7k rpm) about 300 feet from the end of the track. Turned out my torque convertor was bad and had a bunch of bent fins in it.
Still managed a 1.31 60' blowing through the bad convertor. With the new convertor I'm hoping I'll be 9.50-9.60's with the 150 shot.
Oh and I have a Hellcrate sitting in my shop now waiting to go in it probably 2024-2025 winter :)
