Need help with edelbrock 1406 carb

I'll take the top off tomorrow and have a look. I just know many many people run into fuel pressure issues with carters/edelbrocks. But maybe it is a float issue but fuel pressure is the 1st troubleshooting step on most carter/edelbrock trouble shooting guides for flooding....
You just got the car so do not know the fuel pump. I would be checking that and your parts store for the pressure listed for the factiry replacement fuel pump. It is possible for the floats to be sinking which will be revealed with the cover off. Remove the float from the cover and set it in the full float bowl. About 1/4 to 1/3 should be above the fuel surface at least.
