The tank is an M60A1. This picture was taken in late 1982 during a major field exercise. We lost our tank commander due to a head injury(he was hit by a tree branch as I drove past it) and while he was away getting medical attention the engine blew. We spent the rest of that exercise waiting for our new pack, which arrived just in time for us to install it and make the trip back to the motor pool at Hood at the end of the exercise.
