To Sell or Part Out my 68 Formula S Barracuda?
So I have the Rust Free 68 Barracuda Formula S with a newly rebuilt 340 and is my daily driver. It is a barn find and needs the seats refoamed and is missing radio, etc but a very nice interior. The body is almost perfect with no rust anywhere including frame rails! I have all the parts to restore to specs but before I start I wanted to explore selling to someone who has the money and time to do this right. I am not a body guy and so when I explored a sale the most I could get was about $32K because it’s not the original 340 engine.
Now on eBay and other sites I purchased my originals parts to complete the restore project, the parts in the condition on the car are highly sought after and are worth more than double the price I’d get selling whole.
I know real Mopar purists would want this car totally original and restored to preserve the historical aspects of this awesome and rare model….. my question is why not part out?? I am new on this site so I wanted people’s opinion and possibly find a buyer who is really interested in this car in this condition. Please respond kindly knowing this is not my wheelhouse but have been driving 60’s Mopars and doing the mechanic work in my other cars since 1984. Thanks for your comments.
