Shelton Racing ProMod car. Met this guy at the GatorNats today. He had not 1, but TWO promod cars there! This one with a 14-71 Roots blower and the other one with a screw blower on it.
Had to be one of the nicest guys I've met! Invited us in close to look at his car and ask any questions. Stood there and talked to us for like 20 min or so. Something this ole dummy didn't know: since the blowers dump their air toward opposite ends of the engine, and this being heated air (at close to 35 psi of boost!), they actually use different rods/pistons in either the front or rear 4 holes to lower the CR by 0.2-0.3 to handle the hotter air. Never knew that! He also said the Roots blower is harder on the 4" stroke crankshaft than the screw blower. Interesting stuff!!
