very mild 360 build.

well my stupid *** forgot my phone today so i didn't get any pictures..

i finished cleaning up i think everything that will be re used..
pulled the fresh heads i'm buying from my buddy apart to clean and machine for the valve seals. that was cool, never done it before.

oiled and slid the valves back in the heads and will assemble when the new springs and all get here...

i walked in the door at home at about 5pm, looked at my phone and there was a message from the shop saying my block was done.. of all days to forget my phone.. i called and asked how long they would be there.. he was like i'm setting the alarm now... oh ****. can't get it till wednesday now... i'm only 5 minutes away from the shop so he agreed to hang out till i got there.. block is in my posession again.. :) will take it to my buddies wednesday and we will move along with the project. probably finish hand polishing the crank first, then move to the block.

there has also been a change to the cam choice.. i called hughes to order the springs and everything but some of the stuff was out of stock... between that and the not so warm and fuzzy feeling he gave me on the phone i decided to email oregon cams to get a recommendation from him. he got back to me quickly, got back to my reply quickly which i liked. i called a friend (tom) that knows much more about cams them i do and we talked. he knows toregon from the ford FE guys.. says ken has a great reputation with those guys... he told me if i order from them get the 1522 cam.. so yesterday i called oregon and talked ot ken for a few minutes and ordered the 1522 cam, lifters, retainers and locks.. he says 3 weeks.. i gotta say i felt much better in the gut talking with him then i did the guy at hughes...

here are the specs for the new cam. i know my buddy dave who is helping me with all this work feels better about the lower lift. he was worried about reliability with that higher lift that the hughes cam has. my buddy tom who i run just about anything i do to any of my cars by (have been for 30+ years) really liked that hughes cam and thought it would be awesome for what i want.. but not knowing when parts would be in was the killer. tom says he would trust oregon to steer me right considering his reputation with the ford FE stuff.
