I know that from past experience I get 2.5-3 years on my engines before I start getting a water leak out of my water pump mounting points on my engine plate. I had it on my mental “to do” list to remove the plate and reseal everything.

I feel your pain. If you've ever tried to get a motor plate to seal on the front cover of a Gen 3 hemi it's not fun. You are sealing a smooth plate to a motor front cover that is designed for the no permatex gasket and about a dozen bolts. The water pump is actually the easy part. The plate has holes for a bb chevy water pump.
