I have the same question for my '64 Barracuda, running super rich, let me know how the rebuild or new carb works, or of if I do it first will post. There is a good Uncle Tony's Garage video on the Chinese knock-offs and their shortcomings, specifically the Carter 2-BBl on his '65 Barracuda 273, as I recall. Jamie on Dead Dodge Garage says they frequently leak gas at main throttle shaft on driver's side so that could be a consideration, too.
Gasoline leaking off the throttle shaft is the result of an internal leak. Wrong float level, leaky float valve, crack, warpage, excess fuel pressure, etc. The shafts themselves don't leak fuel. If anything, they leak air when badly worn.
