Snow in south Texas

All 3 Houston local news started coverage of the "snow" event at 4 A.M. and now at 1:30, they are still covering the event! Good part is most stayed home today, ice closed some roads and most of the wrecks were the "pro" 18 wheelers. 3-4 inches, some sleet and freezing rain, but all in all a good day. Sun is almost out here, now up N of Houston.
But S W La. is under their first blizzard warning ever!!! Our power actually comes out of La. so hope we don't lose it. It will be cold here tonight for us.

I can certainly empathize with how bad things can get and hope you all do alright. During the last "snowmagedon" our area lost something like 29 pole transformers and we were without power and city water for 4 days. Luckily we have a pool so we filled our bathtubs with water for flushing and had enough bottled water (and bourbon) for drinking. I think a lot of the "hype" this time was due to how unprepared people were last time. Better to hunker down when appropriate, but around here, this it was literally a big nothing burger. Sure was a nice drive into work though with ZERO traffic in my way! :)

Be careful, be smart and stay warm.
