The nuts used are shallow Ny-locks . They back the stud out when removing them or you would never get the cover off with the engine in the car. We ended up using allen bolts on them

If it was me I would use allen bolts with a washer.

I might do that. These studs are proving to be kind of a PITA.

I milled the fins off the covers .

And they still probably weigh a ton.

The stud set I have I put with new covers that are in their box yet. I can get you measurements and pictures if you need so you can order them from ARP.
