Has anybody tried to grafting a Charger or Challenger engine cradle to an A body car?
Just thinking that may be easier than trying to make a Hellcat motor fit a stock K member
What's hard about bolting a Hellcat to a stock k-frame? Worst case, the AC compressor doesn't fit in the stock location and it needs a remote oil filter (some setups don't though) which seems much easier to fix than trying to graft an LX/LC cradle to the car.
What would you do for springs? Find a way to use the original LCA's and torsion bars or build a mount for the top of the LX/LC shock? What spindles would you use? The LX/LC spindle will require the LX/LC UCA which means a mount for that too. Seems like I have seen someone doing something like that recently, but I can't imagine it would be easy.
If a stock k-frame has problems for you, there are plenty of aftermarket coil over kits that would probably solve your problems and be a bolt in rather than a huge science project the LX/LC cradle would be.
Personally, I really like my '73+ swap parts from Holley. Maybe having to source the later k-frame is the problem though.
