I'm rattling and its bugging me.

This is pretty minor, I know. When the slant in my 1974 Duster is at idle, an annoying rattle comes from the inside of the snorkel on the air cleaner. I've traced the source of the rattle to the hinge on the bypass door. As you likely know, there is a bypass door on the bottom of the snorkel that admits warm air from the exhaust manifold shroud into the air cleaner during warmup. As the engine warms, this door is slowly closed by its vacuum actuator via a rod between the actuator and the door. Over time, the hinge on this door has become sloppy, and now it has developed an annoying rattle at all engine temperatures. If you peer into the snorkel, you can see the hinge on the front edge of this door. The play in this hinge is where the rattle comes from. Has this ever happened to you? Any ideas as to how I might tighten up this hinge to make the rattle go away? Maybe squirt some grease in there? Whaddya think?
Thanks! cruiser
Never had that issue but you may be able to take it apart and put a bushing in. Something like a pop rivet and drill the center out. Just spit baling here. May be a spring on the shaft will help the rattle.
