And back to an earlier question in a post .

I think the part about the oil is not so much what’s clinging to the crank,,,but rather the weight of the oil flowing with in the crank passages.
On the balancer,,,the passages are empty,,,but not when in use .
That is just used as a rough approximation ( SWAG method ),of what it would weigh .
