The topless adventures of Cuda Al
The easiest way to tell is to show it lined up with the taillight bezel. Originals are different top and bottom because the slope and surface width of the bezel is different at the top and the bottom. Each piece of trim has a top slope and a bottom slope, and a top surface width and a bottom surface width, divided by the black stripe. All 4 of these features should line up with the bezel. Closing the trunk lid would give you a better idea. One thing, they should be clearly different from each other. The repros are exactly the same top and bottom, which is the problem.
I just noticed my trunk lid isn't closing properly on the right side... better look at the left side. The widths of the surface flats should roughly match, the angle of the surface should match, and the angles of the return bevels should match. The widths aren't a precise fit, but the angles should be right on.
