Big Block Fuel Pump to Carb Line

What do you think about putting the filter in this area or further down a tad? You'd probably even be able to make what you have still work.

That's what I was thinking but maybe closer to the fuel pump. And the filter is in the airflow from the fan. Of course you need room for the alternator too.
If you swap the tee and the ell at the carb you would eliminate the extra loop. Less exposed fuel line will help with reduced heat absorption, especially I'm CA.
