This car underwent an extensive mechanical restoration from 2022-2024.
The car was painted under previous ownership in 2015 in the original GY3 color. This was an original bench seat car, and the bench was replaced with factory buckets at some point in its life
There is no broadcast sheet for this vehicle, but I have a binder with information on previous owners going back to 2000
The engine and transmission are NON numbers matching. The engine block is a 1969 340 block dressed to look like a 1971 340 engine with the correct ’71 only intake/carb etc. As it was an early (October ’70) build it has 1970 exhaust manifolds. The trans is a 1969 with the correct A body shifter rods/linkage/mechanism all from Brewers.

The mechanical restoration included:
- 8 ¾ rear end removed – housing powder coated, new Auburn sure grip, and new Moser 3:55 ring pinion. Rear drum brakes completely rebuilt with new hardware
- New parking brake cable
- All new brake, fuel, lines and vent hoses rear to front
- Rear leaf springs powder coated – new bushings also
- New rear tail panel stripe / decals - 11/24
- Jack assembly stripped – refinished
- New 14’’ spare tire, rim was powder coated satin black
- New reproduction taillight lenses - 11/24
- New complete Accurate brand stock exhaust from the manifolds back to the tips
- K frame removed and powder coated
- Front sway bar stripped/powder coated, and new bushings installed
- All (4) shocks were replaced
- Entire car rear to front – NEW M&H OEM wiring harnesses: rear harness, under dash harness, all engine and headlight harnesses
- NEW rebuilt correct 1971 340 radiator by Glen Ray in WI
- New door jamb switches
- 1971 Rallye gauges sent to Instrument Specialties for restoration – odometer was zeroed out to coincide with the engine rebuild
- New speedometer cable
- Heater box was completely restored by Mr. Heaterbox in Canada
- Dash frame was removed and powder coated
- Ash tray refurbished – cig lighter works
- New glovebox liner
- New cowl to dash wiper seals
- VIN tag was refinished with new Chrysler logo transfer and rosette rivets
- Front center speaker is new
- AM/FM radio was restored by Retro Radio conversions and features Bluetooth and AUX input
- Steering column was refinished, and new turn signal switch installed
- New shifter boot, trim ring, bezel and shifter knob
- The seat belts were COMPLETELY refurbished with new webbing and Manufacturer tags by Bill Edwards in WA.
- New black bucket seat backs x 2
- New black front kick panels x 2
- The non numbers matching engine is a 1969 340 – dressed to look like a 1971 340, with the correct 1971 only intake manifold and 1971 only Carter Thermoquad (rebuilt) – CORRECT 4972S for – 340 manual
- Engine was rebuilt by NEWCO engines in Kentland, Indiana and was bored.030 over and features a roller cam/roller lifter setup – cam is one step up from stock and idles nicely
- Heads were completely rebuilt, new valves, guides etc. by Hi-Flow heads in Alsip, Illinois
- New RAM clutch & throw-out bearing, pressure plate was resurfaced
- Power steering box rebuilt – (Steer n Gear)
- Power steering pump rebuilt
- NEW yellow top Mopar restoration AGM battery - 2022
- Front bumper rechromed - 06/23
- 3 speed wiper motor rebuilt by Topher McGinnis
- 340 – 4 speed distributor rebuilt with Pertronix module by Joe White
- Correct for ’71 – idle solenoid #DR 1114429 rebuilt and restored by Bill Meerholz
- Correct 1971 date coded alternator rebuilt by Dixie Restorations (Jim Ridge)
- New BFG tires October 2024 – P215 R60/15 front / P255 R60/15 rears
- New 1971 only Rallye wheel center caps November 2024
- Power brake booster was NOS – but still rebuilt by Booster Dewey due to age
- Master cylinder rebuilt by Brake and Equipment Warehouse in MN.
- New transmission shift rods (Brewers)
- New rebuilt HURST shifter mechanism (Brewers)
- Transmission is NON numbers, and is a 1969 unit
- Rear brake drum faces painted red as original
Really nice driver that was shown at MCACN this past November. Drive it anywhere!
