Heater instrument panel differences for 67?

Would that be true of the 68+ style panels as well? Basically any panel that goes with a glove box would have a radio "loop", regardless of year or radio option?
yes.

I'd almost be more tempted to get a base 67 panel with no radio and just take the panel off my glovebox, though I'm thinking that would leave me with some screw holes to deal with.
not just screw holes but large holes for the cover posts to go into. you can get a replacement glovebox door without the holes.

Unrelated, but in the vicinity. Did the glovebox only have a spring on one side? Mine has a bad habit of opening itself if I punch the throttle, and while I was taking it off for my A/C install I noticed that the left hinge didn't have a spring, though it looked like it had mounting holes for one. I thought maybe that's why it opens more easily, but looking at the parts diagrams it appears to only call out a spring on the right side (well, the description is "All, Rt."). Was thinking I'd add the second one to keep it shut better, but looking like maybe it's not missing after all?

67 uses a different hinge than 68 up and yes there is only one spring. you could go to the hardware store and find another spring and put it on the other side. I have never had my door open on acceleration or any other reason since I was 4 years old (when my dad bought the car new)
