Is it just me or did the division start happening roughly 2003? Either it was already there and in my little corner or the world, it wasn’t and it eventually spread.

Seems like pre 9/11, even political and racial divides were present but there wasn’t hatred. Used to, the county GOP and county dem parties would host joint cook outs and had mini carnivals and such. Now they hate each other so badly, not only did that stop, but if they show up at any fair or parade or festival, they have to be kept on opposite ends of the property .
